During the afternoons this week, Year 3 have been focusing on resilience. We have been learning about what resilience is and how to have a growth mindset. Throughout the week we have been looking at some famous people who have shown resilience during their lives; Frida Kahlo, Captain Sir Tom Moore and Rosa Parks. After reading the story of Rosa Parks, Year 3 produced some fantastic drama about events in her life and then went on to write some poetry. Year 3 wrote their own 'I am' poetry where they had to put themselves into Rosa's shoes and follow a specific structure for the poetry. This tied in excellently with National Poetry Day this week! 3R amazed Miss Watkins with their powerful poetry, a special well done to Lily, Eloise and Dylan in 3R whose poems have made it to the blog! 

After seeing the fantastic poems that 3R have written this week, I am really excited to see 3R's entry's to the Author of the Term competition which is poetry based!
