Home Learning Task:
Write your own poem about the environment. Add some art work to convey the message.
English:
This week children have been looking at how to show different perspectives linked to our text. We also thoroughly enjoyed National Poetry Day. Children unpicked a poem called ‘Our Broken Planet’. They used oracy to read the poem aloud thinking about their intonation and the poetic devices. After break the children conveyed the message from the poem through art before writing their own.
Next week, we will be considering internal monologues and how we express those internal thoughts and feelings whilst linking to the main character Bradley in the text.
Maths:
This week in maths we have been focusing on missing numbers, looking for clues to help solve balanced number sentences and solved multi step addition and subtraction word problems.
Next week, we will be moving onto to learning about multiples, primes, factors and common factors. Please ensure children are accessing TTRS to learn their times tables as this underpins everything in maths.
UBBC:
What a week we have had in UBBC. We started the week with an incredible WOW day that saw the children mesmerised by the science behind lots of the experiments they took part in. The children turned cream to butter, made plastic from milk, created rocket launchers, saw the effects of coke and mentos and saw the changing states of chocolate! We had a fabulous day and had so much fun whilst learning about the science behind these fascinating experiments.
