Happy new year! What a fantastic return to school this week. The children have shown real enthusiasm and have come back ready to learn. 

Home Learning Task

For the home learning task this week, we would like the children to imagine they have the opportunity to go on a ‘round the world’ trip. We would love to know which route they would take, where they would visit and why. Please present this in any way, they can be as creative as they like. This is due in on Wednesday 11^th January.

Reading:         ​

Minimum 3x a week. Reading record must be signed by an adult. Can be completed on your own or with your parents.

Spelling Shed:

Friday to Friday.

Tasks will be completed online, with new tasks set every week.

Tasks will always follow the spellings being taught in class that week.

Times Tables Rock Stars:         ​

Minimum 3x a week.

Can be completed on tablets, laptops or mobile phones though the app or the website.

My Maths:

Once a week – Friday to Friday.

Weekly Review:

This week in PSHE, the children’s learning has been inspired by the book and short film ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse’ written by Charlie Mackesy.

They explored the messages of kindness, courage and friendship and linked this to their own lives and relationships. They illustrated their own work with similar sketches and wrote their favourite quote from the book.

In Religious Education, the children started off their learning about Buddhism by researching the key beliefs and practices of the religion. They spent time researching and finding out about how Buddhism came to Britain and what life is like in Britain for a practising Buddhist. They were lucky enough to interview one of our very own pupils  which was hugely insightful and interesting. This led on to them creating their own symbols to express these key beliefs and practices.
