Key Messages and Homework 24.4.23
Home Learning Task:
This week we would like the children to read lots! When reading they need to discuss what they have read and be questioned about the text. You could ask questions like:
- What impression do you get of the main character? Why is this?
- What language has the author used to draw the reader in? What impact does this have?
- What is the genre of the book?
Reading:
Minimum 3x a week. Reading record must be signed by an adult. Can be completed on your own or with your parents.
Spelling Shed:
Friday to Friday.
Tasks will be completed online, with new tasks set every week.
Tasks will always follow the spellings being taught in class that week.
Times Tables Rock Stars:
Minimum 3x a week.
Can be completed on tablets, laptops or mobile phones though the app or the website.
Maths:
SATs revision booster packs have been set on MyMaths in the run-up to the tests in a few weeks time. Please also see separate revision blog with links to revision for SATs as well.
Weekly Review:
Another amazing week in Year 6.
The children have showed such resilience this week as they continue to develop their English and maths. They have produced some wonderful pieces of writing based around our new text Skellig.
Below is the Year 5 or 6 newsletter that outlines what we are covering this term in each subject.
