One Childhood - One Chance

Weekly News and Looking Ahead

What a wonderful day we have had celebrating together!

Despite the unpredictable weather, it was a delightful day! The children learnt all about what a coronation actually is and create their own poems inspired by the event. We then made regal paper chains and finished up with our Great British Picnic! We hope you all have a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend!

Maths:

This week we have continued to explore the place value of decimals, ready for our End of Unit Assessment. Next up? More decimals! Year 4 all had a practice on the government Try It Out portal for the Multiplication Tables Check this week and will continue to familiarise themselves with the site before the assessment in June.

English:

This week we explore descriptive phrases to create a setting  description and a Wanted poster for our villain, Thanatos. Next week we will write in role, using emotive language to craft diary entries.

Afternoon Thematic Curriculum

We have been exploring the human and physical geography of modern-day Greece. Next week, we will compare London to Athens and explore daily life in Ancient Greece.

Home Learning:

This week, can you create and illustrate an A-Z of Greece?

A-Athens

B-Baklava

C-Crete

Coming up:

Miss Vary along with Mr Kettle will be holding a Year 4 information meeting regarding the Multiplication Tables Check on Monday 22nd May at 3.30pm in the hall. This will be an opportunity to find out more about the statutory assessment and ask any questions you may have.
