Maths
This week in maths, the children have been learning about constructing and interpreting time graphs. They have learnt how to draw a time graph with the correct scale and then answer questions relating to the graph.
English
In English this week, the children have been writing dialogue using inverted commas. They have written a conversation between an animal and a woodcutter which links to our text ‘The Great Kapok Tree.’
Thematic
This week began with a messy science lesson! The children learnt all about their teeth and how this then links to our digestive system. The children carried out an experiment to show how the food travels from the mouth, through the intestine and results in bodily waste! We then learnt about Mayan hierarchy and finished the week with writing a brochure for a Mayan museum.
Homework
Please see the homework menu attached. The children need to choose ONE activity each week that they would like to have a go at. There are 15 activities to choose from to provide a wide range of options. When they have completed a piece of homework, they can send it in either in the book, through photos or bringing something to share.
What a fabulous week year 4! Well done!
