Year 6 Weekly News 28.3.25
This week in Year 6...
English
In English this week, Year 6 have been working hard to write a balanced argument, questioning whether the German soldier, whose plane crashed in our text, should be saved.
Next week, we will work on the editing and improving process before publishing this piece.
Maths
This week we have learnt all about ration and proportion; the children have described relationships using ratio language and the ratio symbol.
Next week, we will move on to applying our understanding of ratio and proportion to a range of problems.
Thematic Curriculum
This week, we started by learning about the 1940 raid which saw Ramsgate receive more than 500 bombs in under 5 minutes. We looked at footage of the aftermath and plotted locations on maps. Each class then ventured to Ramsgate Tunnels to experience the network of tunnels which saved the lives of so many on that day.
