Year 4 have been studying modern poetry. Modern poetry refers to the verse created by the writers and poets of the 20th and 21st centuries. We studied the poem 'Please Mrs Butler' by Allan Ahlberg and pupils created their own versions of the poem using the Year 4 teachers' names! Pupils learned about rhyming patterns and how to perform poetry with volume, tone and intonation.
