Mrs Sedgewick recommends...The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy.
A heartwarming story of friendship, kindness and love. This book cannot fail to make you smile!
I was given this book as a present by a good friend of mine and as intended by the author it is indeed everyone, whether you are aged eight or eighty. The story begins with a lonely boy who meets a mole before they set off into the wild together. As they begin their adventure, they meet a fox. The boy is full of questions, the mole is greedy for cake and the fox is often silent. Then, they meet a horse-the biggest yet gentlest creature they have ever encountered. The characters are all different-just like us. A beautiful book that tells the story of friendship and kindness-not just a lovely story but fantastic illustrations and quotes that make you think and that I am sure you will remember forever. Enjoy!
