Miss Lewis (and daughters) recommends... 'The Worst Witch' by Jill Murphy
The Worst Witch is a series of children's books written and illustrated by Jill Murphy.
The Worst Witch books were a favourite for my children when they were growing up and I thought it would be nice for you to hear what they thought about them. Here is a review from my eldest daughter, Rachael.
The Worst Witch series was one of my favourites when I was in primary school and helped me to become more passionate about reading. There are 8 books in total and the story revolves around a young witch called Mildred who has always been at the bottom of her class as all of her spells and potions go wrong. Throughout the books, she works on making new friends and getting better at her magic in order to prove that she can be just as good as everyone else. By doing this, she inspires people to not give up and to keep trying no matter how good you are because resilience and determination will always lead you to your goals.
I would really recommend this series to children or adults of all ages as it is funny and lighthearted and will always leave you with a smile on your face. It is especially good for anyone who either struggles to find enjoyment in reading or likes to feel connected to the characters they are reading about as there are many books within the series to dive into and enjoy. As they also each have their own plot, the books can be read individually or in any order without any kind of confusion too which makes it really accessible to all readers. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I always have!
