Our current Year 3 text is Anthony Browne's 'Voices in the Park', and this week we have been focusing on writing effective setting descriptions. As a stimulus, we all went for a wander outside, looking around our field and the environmental area to really absorb the natural environment. The children were encouraged to use their senses, considering what they could see, hear, touch, smell all around them (and we tasted the cool breeze!). They then used these ideas to write a description of a park, adding adjectives to describe the setting.
