This week:
What a fabulous week we have had!
In maths, we have been continuing our learning about decimals, we have looked at how to order, compare and round decimals.
In English, we have started our new texts. We have written diary entries from a character's perspective.
Miss Bunce's group have written setting descriptions of a forest, we even explored our environmental area to gather inspiration for our writing.
In the afternoons, we have started our new topic 'Our Planet'. The children have been learning all about the layers of the Earth and how earthquakes, mountains and volcanoes occur. We even finished off the week with a fabulous WOW day, including a workshop about volcanoes.
Next week
Next week, in topic we will be making a volcano model - focusing on how to create texture on our models.
In English, we will be writing to build tension and suspense. Miss Bunce's group will be creating a non-fiction double page spread about Volcanoes.
In Maths, we will finish our decimal journey early next week. We will then move on to money!
Homework this week-
Linking to our topic this week, we would like the children to 'Research an active volcano'. They can present the information they find in any format they wish. Have fun!
