Summer Fair at Upton
Upton have had Fun at the Fair this week!
This week has been fantastic - the children have been busily organising their very own stalls for the summer fair and picnicking with friends and family on the school field. It has been so much fun and the children have done a fantastic job of raising money for projects across the school - well done to everyone for your hard work!
This week in Maths the children have been learning all about turns, angles and identifying angles in different shapes. Next week the children will be moving on to describing position on a grid.
This week in English the children have been using persuasive language using modal verbs. Next week they will be learning how to use language for effect and writing their own scripts!
This week the children had a wonderful trip to Crampton Tower and learned all about Thomas Crampton. Next week the children will be learning about smuggling in Broadstairs and visiting Dickens House!
Important Dates for Next week:
Wednesday - Blues and Greens will be visiting Dickens House
Friday - Reds and Yellows will be visiting Dickens House
Children must bring a packed lunch with them for the trip (a school lunch will be provided for those children who usually have a school dinner) Please ensure children also have a water bottle and hat for the trip.
Transition Day - Thursday 7th July
Homework this week: This week we have been learning about Thomas Crampton and we visited Crampton Tower. Can you remember all the things we learned about at the Tower? We did a quiz! Can you present your findings in your Homework Books? It can be a Crampton Tower poster or perhaps an information leaflet for visitors describing the things Thomas Crampton achieved.
