National Poetry Day in 5G And Preserved Lemons!
This morning we celebrated National Poetry Day! Our chosen poem was 'More Pointless Questions'. What do you think this might mean? The children were great at annotating what it meant to them and went on to create their own version.
This afternoon was spent learning how our food has been preserved over time. The children then had the opportunity to preserve fruit in a jar. Lemons were cut into wedges, sea salt, bay leaves and lemon juice added. They now need to be left for four weeks and can then be enjoyed in soup, curries, added to mash potato or fish.
