Year 5 trip to Canterbury Cathedral
Year 5 loved their trip to Canterbury Cathedral over the past two days. During the day, children enjoyed a tour of the cathedral, learning about its earliest Saxon roots and how during its early years its history was shaped by numerous invasions by the Vikings and the eventual Norman conquest of 1066. Children enjoyed dressing up as kings, queens, monks, Vikings and Saxons for the tours. They also really enjoyed the activity room, where they got a chance to write in Saxon runes its a quill, role play building the Cathedral and designing their own stained glass window.
Its was so good to go on a school trip, having gone so many years without one, and we can't wait for our next one!
