5Y had a wonderful day on Wednesday when we celebrated the beginning of our new topic - China!

Throughout the day, we took part in a range of different activities. In the morning, we read a traditional Chinese folk story - The Magic Paintbrush - and then used this story as inspiration for our own art and accompanying story. We were then treated to the delights of a Chinese workshop led by Dance Days, including using traditional Chinese parasols and a Chinese dragon. In the afternoon, we enjoyed having a go at some Chinese calligraphy and also made our own Chinese dragons. It was a fantastic day of activities and a great way to start our new topic.
