This week, we finished reading our text Floodland. Out writing task was to write a newspaper report however, we needed to look at the key features of a newspaper report first. With this is mind, we learnt about direct and reported speech. Each child took on the role of the reporter and each child took on the role of one of the characters. The children asked well-prepared questions and responded well in their character role. It was important to take each direct speech quote and convert it to reported speech to ensure we had a sound understanding. We will then use them in our report next week.
