FUN AT THE FAIR
What a day we had yesterday. We enjoyed 4 different activities:
Robotics -
IALT: Understand how cogs and gears create movement and how to program a computer to monitor changes in the environment / control their products.
Today we used Lego to build our own fairground rides using a variety of parts. We then attached a battery and a motor and programmed our rides to move!
Electricity and Forces
IALT: Take measurements using a range of scientific equipment, with increasing accuracy and precision.
IALT: Compare and give reasons for variations in how components function, including the brightness of bulbs, the loudness of buzzers and the on/off position of switches.
Today we built our own circuits using different components. We powered radios, calculators and more using solar panels. We also measured forces using a Newton meter.
Fairground Art
IALT: use paint to create fluidity and movement
We explored and discussed fairground rides, practiced creating shapes and patterns using a cardboard comb and created a piece of moving rollercoaster art.
Drama
IALT: to use rhythm, mime and expression
We have expressed words in different moods, speeds and tones, listened to and reciprocated rhythms, responded and moved to music and taken part and led a freeze frame.
