✓ We kindly request for all pupils to be dropped off at the grass area by the theatre inside St Lawrence College between 8.30am and 9:15am. The entrance to the school is in Holly Road. Follow the road up through the college (please park in the car parks provided). Please be aware there will be no adult supervision until 8.30am.
✓ If your child attends Breakfast Club, they will be taken over to St Lawrence College in the school minibus
✓ Pupils may wear non-school uniform (suitable shoes, no flip flops) but must bring along their costume. We advise pupils to wear lighter or layered clothing because the theatre can be very warm even in inclement weather conditions.
✓ All pupils will sign in and out of the theatre on class lists for registration purposes, which can be found by the theatre door.
✓ Pupils will require a packed lunch on both days. If your child has a free school meal, a packed lunch will be provided for them by the kitchen. Lots of water to drink will also be needed.
✓ No money will be needed during the day.
✓ We will be having break-times, so hats and sunscreen might be needed (weather dependent).
✓ Please pick up from the theatre between 3:45-4:15pm - all pupils should be collected then. If your child attends sports or music clubs on these days at Upton, their club teachers know that they will not be attending.
✓ We will not let any pupil leave St Lawrence College without an adult, so if there is a last-minute change of arrangements please let the School Office know and they will contact us at the theatre.
- Leavers’ Party – Monday 18th July until 6pm This takes place after our beach day until 6pm on the school field. - Year 6 will be collected from the playground at 2pm on the last day where we can say our final goodbyes and clap for our class of 2022. The children can bring in a spare white shirt on this day as well for their friends to sign. Children will not be allowed to have the shirt they are wearing for the whole day to be signed – they must bring in a spare shirt.
Home Learning Task
All children must learn all of their lines and lyrics for Oliver. It is very important that children not only know what they are saying but have learnt their cues and dances also. In addition to this, homework this week is to ensure that have created/ bought fantastic costumes for the production. Please see the letter that was sent out for ideas. Costumes will be needed for the week beginning the 11th July as we will be having dress rehearsals on the 12th and 13th.
Please also learn the words to the song that we will be using as our leavers song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96JDkI2tBhI&ab_channel=JamesCadman
Weekly Review:
Year 6 have had another fantastic week.
We have had some fantastic performances when preparing for our production performance.
The children have also been developing their knowledge of forces in science.
Of course transition has been a large part of the week, all the children have spent time at their new schools – many happy faces coming back after enjoying their first day at their new schools.
