6Y Our Wonderful World Speech.
Our topic, The World Around Us, is coming to and end and so we finished it with amazing speeches! We looked at the issues currently facing our beautiful planet including Climate Change, plastic pollution and deforestation. We also watched Greta Thunberg's speech on climate change to see how she uses persuasive techniques and how her passion shines through.
Oh If They Saw It That Way
Our world, our people, our lives, all of them depend on the actions we make, the things we do, the paths we take. Our world, a clock, the handles moving, so slow. Our lives would be a mere millisecond, millenniums just a blink of an eye, yet what do we do? The mankind, all they did was mess with the handles, tamper with time itself, for what? Some material to be used once before it just gets thrown away into the ocean for decades, destroying SeaLife.
The way the grown-ups always talk and talk about the worlds end, oh woe is me, the trees are falling, the animals are becoming extinct. Yet all they do is put the pressure on us, the pressure on our generation to fix the world ourselves, while they sit back, not a bother in the world, not even a thought about even helping our world come to peace. Everybody is a human, a human who could make a change. Oh, if only they saw it that way.
Our generation are finally opening up our eyes, we don’t look at the world as a ball of green and blue. We see it as a bundle of opportunity, a cluster of beauty, we don’t see green, we see shining emerald, we don’t see blue, we see glittering sapphires. What would it be if they saw it like that too? Every crack, every pond on an earth are not scars, yet marks of nature, signs of hope that is yet to come true. Oh, if only they saw it that way.
From the beginning, earth is known for the diversity of all life as we know it, every flowers petal has a different mark, each mark telling a story, yet what do we do? We force them to do tricks that are unnatural, force them to act the same, walk the same and think the same. This is stopping biological diversity, since animals' children, their children too, all of them will; learn from them. If they walk the same, and think the same, so will their children, all species will do the same thing, the same pattern every day. Oh, if only they saw it that way.
I hope, like the animals, that my children, and their children, will be able to see the world the way I do, and make a change, make a difference, make a new world.
Our World
We live in a unique and beautiful world! We are surrounded by natural wonders such green forest, winding rivers, great oceans, dry deserts. We are lucky enough to share our planet with an abundance of diverse life and it is crucial that we look after and protect our Earth. The planet does not just belong to us and people of all generations need to work together to protect our endangered habitats and animals.
I am here to tell you today that this is not happening. Rainforest are still being cut down and at alarming rate, fossil fuels are being burned and car and factory fumes are still poisoning our air. Scientists state the animal extinction to happening 1000 times the normal rate, which is shocking! Why are we not acting now? Why are we not making changes? Do we not want a planet for our future generations?
Please hear my words and act now! Make that change before it is too late. Open up your eyes and your mind and see what is happening before it is too late!
Our Wonderful World
Planet Earth is an absolutely stunning place to behold but after the past few years the once most fabulous place is beginning to fracture. We humans are destroying earth. We must act swiftly.
It cannot be denied that trees produce the very air we breathe today, without it we would be dead. By destroying forests you're not only destroying animal habitats but our resource of air. People say they will stop it but the forests are still being depleted right as we speak at a pace of 13million hectares. This is unacceptable. Surely you must understand why we need to stop this. Young people like me are going all around the world to make a brave speech about world destruction because you will not stop. Do you want your world destroyed? I certainly do not. This is a crisis which is on your hands. It is terrifying to acknowledge at my age that world extinction is happening 1000 times the pace it should be going. We as a community must STOP THIS NOW! The facts that I have shown clearly proves that we must take ACTION!
