6R WW2 WOW DAY!
6R had a fantastic time at Kent life, learning all about World War Two. They took part in a hands-on, interactive session where children experienced what it was like for city children to be evacuated to the countryside. They learnt about the precautions taken in an air raid and looked at the different safety measures put in place. The children learnt about the reasons to make rugs from rags during the 1940s. Clothes rationing and “Make do and mend” was discussed. Children learnt how to use a bodger and created a small rag rug to take home. Finally, the children learnt how to march properly with the home guard. It was a fantastic day!
