The Return of the Upton Spring Concert!
No, it’s not the title of a new B-Movie, but instead the hopeful return of our annual Upton Spring Concert, after a two-year absence! Hooray!
Save the Date: Subject to guidelines and conditions, we hope to hold our annual Spring Concert on Thursday March 24th at 6.30pm!
No tickets will go on sale yet and prices have yet to be decided – we use the money to maintain and purchase new instruments and equipment for our Music dept.
All after-school clubs will be performing – Choir, Recorder Club, Rock Band, Ukulele Club and String Group.
The ‘X-Factor’ – As part of the concert, we leave a section for children to perform their own solos, duets and group performances. This is open to any child in the school! In the last week of term I will hold auditions for the 8 places in the concert. The audition times and days are below. Children can sing (solo, duet, or group), or play an instrument (excellent opportunity if they are preparing for a music exam or have lessons with a private tutor). So, if your child is interested, get them practicing now, since competition is usually fierce! The children will be told on the day, if they have won a place.
All auditions are at 12.30, in the Music Room. Children need to go to the hall at 12.15 (packed lunch or school dinners) and tell the Midday Meal Supervisors they need an early lunch.
