The penultimate week in Term 4!
Let's see what we've been up to in Year 3....
English
In English this week, we continue our work writing in role, recounting the battle scenes from 'Revolt Against the Romans'. We also had an exciting visit from the actual author, Tony Bradman, who refused to share any spoilers despite numerous requests. We also had a lovely visit from Sophie Morris, Percy's mum, who shared her journalistic knowledge with Year 3 ahead of our newspaper work next week.
Next week, we will create our own newspaper articles, reporting on the shocking betrayal of the Warrior Queen!
Maths
This week, we worked on comparing fractions.
Next week, will explore equivalent fractions.
Thematic Curriculum
This week we considered the impact the Romans have on our lives today (cats, coins and grapes to name a few!).
Next week, we will focus on R.E, learning about the importance of the Bible.
Homework
- Please read with your child at least 3 times a week.
- Children have now been given their log-in details for Times Table Rock Stars. They should be playing this at least 3 times a week to build their confidence and fluency with times table knowledge.
- Children have been given a ZPD to help them identify the correct books for their reading level. Once your child has read their book, they will need to complete a quiz on it before getting a new one. These quizzes can be done either in school or at home on Accelerated Reader using the log-in codes found in their reading records.
- Spelling shed homework has also been set for the children to complete by next Friday.
- Thematic homework has now finished for this term. Thank you for all of your brilliant Roman efforts. Please see some super examples below:
Reminders:
Next week we have Parent Teacher Consultations on Monday and Tuesday. Please remember school closes early on 1pm on Monday.
Have a great weekend!
