Another exciting and fun week in Year 3! On Thursday afternoon, we welcomed the incoming Year 3s to Upton for a Transition Picnic. The teachers were all so proud to see their classes interact with the new children with such kindness and maturity.
Today we held our annual Summer Fair. Not dampened by the wet weather, the children planned and ran their class stalls to raise money for the school. Thank you for your support with this event.
Please remember children should come to school in PE kit on Thursday (18/7) for our Inflatable fun in the afternoon.
English
This week we explored a range of rainforest themed poetry and the children composed their own with a focus on the senses.
Maths
This week we have engaged in a range of problem-solving activities to revise this year’s learning and work collaboratively.
Thematic Curriculum
This week, in the afternoons, we focused on the important figures and beliefs of Sikhism.
Homework
- Please read with your child at least 3 times a week.
- Children have now been given their log-in details for Times Table Rock Stars. They should be playing this at least 3 times a week to build their confidence and fluency with times table knowledge.
- Children have been given a ZPD to help them identify the correct books for their reading level. Once your child has read their book, they will need to complete a quiz on it before getting a new one. These quizzes can be done either in school or at home on Accelerated Reader using the log-in codes found in their reading records.
