English:
In English this week we read a series of non-fiction texts about space, linking to the start of our new topic in the thematic curriculum. Using this information, the children created their own non-chronological reports about space, using a range of organisational features.
Next week, the children will dive in to our new text 'Cosmic', which we began reading this week. They will be writing a setting description, based on Liam's view of space.
Maths:
This week in maths we began our learning of shape by exploring degrees and angles.
Next week we will be taking this learning further, using protractors to measure and draw angles.
Thematic Curriculum:
During our thematic curriculum this week the children have taken part in both 'Good to be Me' day and RE day. The children demonstrated a good level of maturity when discussing the relevant topics.
Next week we will be starting our new topic ‘To Infinity and Beyond’, which will be a space-based topic, with our stunning start taking place on Tuesday!
